Every last Sunday in May, from 10 am to 7 pm, renowned winemakers all over Istria open their doors to guests marking the Open Wine Cellar Day event in Istria. The event is organized by the Istria Tourist Board and Vinistra (the association of winemakers and winegrowers of Istria).
This is a day-long celebration of Istrian wineries and an opportunity to learn about wineries directly from owners in a relaxed, social setting. Enjoy the tastings of Istrian Malvasia, the Muscat of Momjan, Teran, and other Istria wines. At every winery you can also buy wine directly at the winery.

2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the Open Wine Cellars Day.
Istria joined the project as early as 1999 and the first time the event was held some 800 guests visited 37 winemakers. Today, Open Wine Cellar Day has developed into an eagerly awaited one-day festival of wine culture in Istria.
